SUPER SOCK SATURDAY Beginning Sock Clinic
February 4th we will be having our annual “Super Sock Saturday” in honor of Super Bowl. If you have always wanted to make socks, this is a fun and quick way to learn. You will be learning the basic sock construction as you make one baby sock. You will start with the cuff, turn the heel and finish with the Kitchener stitch. Yarn and needles will be supplied. The all-day class will be $25. You are welcome to bring your lunch. Pre-requisite: must be able to knit and purl in the round.

Have you ever bought a knitting book and only made one project? Knit Noro Accessories is not going to be that book! We love all of the projects in this beautiful book and so we are teaching out of it for the next few months. If you buy the book from us your first class in this series will be free!

“Stitch-Sampler Tote Bag” You will make eight blocks with different stitch patterns,(including cables) and assemble them with a bottom, sides and edging. This bag uses 5 balls of Kureyon and makes a perfect bag for toting library books or your knitting. Class is (3) sessions and the cost is $20.

“Entrelac Mittens” (continued from January) Colorful mittens comprised of large-scale entrelac diamonds. With only two diamonds per row, they knit up in a snap. Noro yarns are perfect for entrelac knitting. Class is (3) sessions and the cost is $20.

Elizabeth Zimmerman was a British-born knitter known for revolutionizing the modern practice of knitting, through her books and instructional series on television. This class includes her book, “Knitter’s Almanac” which includes projects for each month of the year! This sweater pattern is a lacy cardigan with a round yoke and practically seamless!Class will be (3) two-hour sessions. Cost: $25 which includes the book. Beginning Knit Series

Sit and Stitch Events for February 2012
Leave the kids at home and come be a “Knotty Knitter” with us! Unwind, relax, sit and stitch. It is a fun time to be with other knitters. Light Hors D’oeuvres or coffee and pastries.
Knotty Knitter’s “Sit and Stitch Night” is The First and Third Wednesday Night, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Wednesdays, February 1st & 15th
Knotty Knitter’s “Breakfast Club Sit & Stitch” is held the Second and Fourth Tuesday mornings from 8:30AM to 10:30AM. Tuesdays, February 14th & 28th
Snowbird Tea is every Thursday Afternoon from 2:00pm to 4:00pm

Below are some suggestions of classes that we can do for you. These classes are available anytime so as to fit your schedule. However, please call at least 24 hours ahead and we can schedule a class for 1 to 5 participants. If you don’t see what you need, please ask. We can help with just about anything!
Beginning Knit Series
Designed for absolute beginners and as a refresher for those who haven't knit in years, you will learn the basic knitting fundamentals in our beginning knitting class. This class is (3) 2 hour sessions. You will learn to cast on, knit, purl, increase, decrease, read a pattern and bind off your work. As a bonus you will be taking home 3 luxurious washcloths made by you. Yarn and needles are included Cost: $40.00
Beginning Crochet Series
Learn the basic crochet stitches in this beginner class. This class is (3) 2 hour sessions. You will learn to chain, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet and a granny square. You will be making 2 washcloths. Yarn and crochet hook are included Cost: $40.00
Basic Socks Intermediate Beginner
Are you ready to try your first pair of socks? They are much easier to knit than you think. You will learn to use double pointed needles, how to shape a heel and finish a toe. Pre-requisite: experience in knitting in the round. Class will be (3) 1-2 hour sessions.
Cost: $35 includes class and pattern only.
Finishing Techniques: Advanced Beginner
Learn to seam knit pieces together using mattress stitch, crocheted seams, 3-needle bind-off and kitcheners stitch! Cost: $20, 2-hour session. Please call for information. There will be homework prior to the class.
Fixing Your Mistakes: All abilities
Learn to spot mistakes and fix them before they get too far! In these two classes you will learn picking up drop stitches, unknitting, frogging and putting in a lifeline. Cost: $15, (1) 2-hour session. There will be homework, call for information and appointment.
Knit in the Round Beginner’s next step
This is the next practical step after learning to knit. Learn to knit with circular needles and double-points. You will make a hat in this project based class. This will be (2) two-hour sessions. Cost: $25 for class and pattern only.
Learn to Knit Cables
Class is (1) 2-3 hour class. Learn to make right and left leaning cables, a wheat ear cable and a faux cable. Bring a light worsted weight yarn with appropriate needles.
Cost: $20
Project Card All abilities
Purchase our project card for $35 and receive (5) 30 minute sessions of instruction with your on-going project. Start a sweater or any project, knit awhile and when you get to something you don’t understand use one of your sessions. Use the card when you need it, there is no expiration date!
