 We are pleased to offer classes for every level of knitting. Classes are offered on the dates shown or by appointment.  We are offering a limited amount of classes throughout the summer months. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, please give us a call and let us work around your needs.

Elizabeth Zimmerman’s Pi Shawl “Knitalong”  Intermediate

The Pi Shawl pattern is from Elizabeth Zimmerman’s book, “Knitter’s Almanac”.  It is a round shawl that folds into a semi-circle and is knit from the center out. It is very elegant and you can add your own lace stitches to make it unique. You will need the following supplies: The book “Knitter’s Almanac”, your choice of yarn, double-pointed needles and 16”, 24” and 32”circular needles in sizes necessary to obtain correct gauge. There is no charge for this knitalong with purchase of yarn and book.

Tuesdays, June 10, 17th and 24th  from 10:30AM to 12:30PM (This knitalong may continue on into July if needed)

Beginning Knitting:  Beginner

Everything’s included in this beginner class! You will learn the basics of knitting as you create your very own scarf.  This 2-hour session will get you going as you learn to cast on and knit. Then return at your leisure for help to bind off your finished scarf!.

Cost: $25 which includes your yarn and needles

Thursday, June 12th or  Thursday June 26th from 1:00PM to 3:00PM

 

Sit and Stitch Events for June

 

Knotty Knitter’s Breakfast Club is held every other Tuesday morning from 8:30AM to 10:30AM. We have coffee and pastries for any knitter or crocheter that want to join us. It is a fun morning to get away and be with your friends at “Unwind”!

The evening Sit and Stitch events are on hold for the summer months and will resume at the end of August.

 

 

Classes available by Appointment

 

These classes are available anytime so as to fit your schedule. However, please call at least 24 hours ahead and we can schedule a class for 1 to 5 participants.

 

Beginning Knitting or Crochet:  Beginner

Everything’s included in this beginner class! You will learn the basics as you knit or crochet a scarf.  Cost: $25 including supplies. 1-hour session to get you going then return at your leisure for help to bind off your finished scarf!

Finishing Techniques:  Advanced Beginner

Learn to seam knit pieces together using mattress stitch, crocheted seams, 3-needle bind-off and more! Cost: $20, 1-hour session. Please call for information. There will be homework prior to the class.

Read Your Pattern- Read Your Knitting:  Beginner

Learn to read a knitting pattern while learning to recognize stitches in your own project. This is an invaluable resource!  Cost: $20, 1-hour session.

Fixing Your Mistakes: All abilities

Got a trouble spot on your project? Bring it in and let us teach you how to fix it. Learn to spot mistakes and fix them before they get too far! Cost: $20, 1-hour session. Call to make your appointment

Picking Up Stitches: Advanced Beginner

What does it mean to ‘pick up and knit’? We’ll show you the trick and you’ll be on your way to collars, cuffs, and the outer edges! Cost: $15 Please call for your private session.

Basic Socks  Intermediate Beginner

Are you ready to try your first pair of socks? They are much easier to knit than you think. You will learn to use double pointed needles, how to shape a heel and finish a toe. Pre-requisite: experience in knitting in the round. Class will be (4) one hour sessions.

Cost: $25, includes class and pattern only.

Knit in the Round  Beginner’s next step

This is the next practical step after learning to knit .Learn to knit with circular needles and double-points. You will make a hat in this project based class. This will be (2) two-hour sessions. Cost: $25 for class and pattern only.

Learn to Knit Cables,  Confident Beginner

The simple technique of cabling — crossing one group of stitches over another — lends itself to many interpretations. Once you've mastered the basic technique, and it's very easy to do, you can make all kinds of interesting and imaginative cable patterns. In this 3 hour class you will learn to make a cable patterned pillow cover. Cost: $25 for class and pattern only. (Please come before class to purchase the rest of your supplies.)

Project Card    All abilities

Purchase our project card for $35 and receive 5 sessions of instruction with your on-going project. Start a sweater or any project, knit awhile and when you get to something you don’t understand use one of your sessions. Use the card when you need it, there is no expiration date!
